USGO 2008 Singles & Doubles Final Wrap up:The 2008 United States Gay Open tennis tournament has wrapped up and all the draws and results are posted online. Go to the Draws for all the results. Thanks everyone for your patience during the Saturday morning rain delay and the incredible # of 3-set matches we enjoyed. In addition, the World Team Tennis competition saw some amazingly close matches, with Super Match Tiebreaks. You can view those results below. Did you stick around to enjoy some wine and beer and Mitchell's ice cream with other World Team Tennis participants on Monday afternoon? It was a nice wrap-up party for the tournament. We really appreciate Rosie Casals participation in the USGO this year. Rosie put on a tennis Q&A for us where the players peppered her with questions. But she was ready with great advice and later socialized with the World Team Tennis participants. Next year, Rosie is looking forward helping even more with our tournament. Did you enjoy our Sunday Night Tournament Party at Cafe Du Nord. Many thanks to Raya and Friends for their wonderfully entertaining lineup of drag performers. And of course thanks to Pearl Vodka for allowing us to provide an open bar to the players. Next year's tournament will be back at Stanford, so plan on joining us again and please tell all your friends. Have a good summer tennis season! |
Mitchell's® Ice Cream-flavored World Team Tennis wrap-up:All good things must come to an end, and this includes even the WTT at USGO. The competition was fierce in every division, and everybody brought the fun. It is our pleasure to announce the Champions of the 2008 WTT at USGO:
