2010 USGO - Schedule of Events

Welcome Party, Thursday, May 27, 6-8:00pm

The USGO Welcome Party takes place on the historic 15th Street Public Tennis Courts, just above the Castro District of San Francisco. Plans are underway to renovate the courts prior to the USGO, and have the two tennis courts designated a historic site for their role in helping establish the organized gay & lesbian tennis movement.

Friday: Day 1

Play begins Friday, May 29, Stanford University and Cañada College
Play begins at both Taube Tennis Center and Stanford West tennis courts on Stanford University and at the scenic tennis courts of Cañada College, just north of Stanford. Please report directly to the site where you are scheduled to play your match. Check the draws.

Friday Night: Gay Day at Great America Amusement
The Bay Area's largest amusement park is reserved for the LGBT community, with wild rides and dance stages everywhere. Discounted tickets available to all USGO players. Purchase your tickets at the Thrusday Night Welcome Party or anytime Friday at the main tournament desk.

Saturday: Day 2

Play is at Stanford's Taube Tennis Center and Cañada College Tennis Courts

Tennis Block Party social tennis event for players not competing in the tournament. Saturday, 9am-12noon, Palo Alto High School Tennis Courts. Open to the pubic and absolutely free! Instruction, interactive games, and fun for players of all ages and abilities. Meet new players, learn about tennis programs for LGBT tennis players, and get to know the United States Tennis Association-our sponsor.

Saturday Player Barbecue Lunch
The USGO's now traditional Saturday afternoon player barbecue returns. Enjoy complementary barbecue ribs, pulled pork, chicken and veggie burgers.

World Team Tennis Kick-Off Party

World Team Tennis action starts Saturday at around 6pm. Please report early and check in with your team captain (you'll be notified who this is) and go over the somewhat different rules of this uber-fun event.

Sunday: Day 3

Play is at Taube Tennis Center and Consolation Singles at Cañada College
Please report directly to the site where your match is scheduled. Check the draws. World Team Tennis Round 2 starts around 4pm.

USGO Sunday Night Tournament Party
Plans are in the works for a fabulous player and guest tournament party in San Francisco. We'll welcome back past champions over the last 29 years of the USGO and stage our largest party yet.

Monday: Day 4

Brunch at Stanford
Monday's finals begin around 9:00am. (connie finals start at 8:00am) All players and partners are invited to a Brunch at Taube Tennis Center, 10am-12noon. Get ready to enjoy the singles and doubles finals as well as the conclusion of the World Team Tennis competition.
