If you have no idea and haven't been playing that long, you are most likely a 2.5 or 3.0 player. Let me know if you have questions. * Keep in mind, You can only play on a team at or above your ranked level. So if you self rank as a 3.5 player, you cannot play on our 3.0 team.

There will be a button called player registration in the upper right of the USTA Team page. And yes, the USTA wants a little more money, it's $21 to join a team. If you don't know which team to join, contact the women's director.
What it means to be on a team
We will probably have about 10-15 games between March 17th and the end of June. We usually have one match per weekend, except holiday weekends. Some are on Saturdays, some are on Sundays, and rarely they are on weekday nights, but we try to avoid that. The times are variable. We have no set schedules or match dates as of yet.
A match usually lasts about 2-3 hours and consists of 3 doubles matches and 2 singles matches. If you are primarily a singles or doubles player, let your captain know. Also, if you are trying to practice with a specific person, you can also request to play with that person as much as possible.
You will NOT play every match. Each team will organize itself and ask you to let them know which matches you are available for. We try to tell people at least a week in advance if they are playing. We ask that you try to keep your availability current and accurate, but also know that things come up and sometimes we have to find subs. We ask that you try to be available to play at least 3 games per season.
The more flexible you are, most likely the more you will play. If you have limited availability, then we will do our best to get you in on the matches you are available. Ideally, we would like everyone to get equal playing time.
Home matches require us to reserve courts, which does cost money. The GLTF subsidizes some of this cost, but some of it is also passed along to the teams. Many of our captains have adopted a pay-as-you-play approach where they ask you to contribute $5-10 per match. You may also be asked to bring a snack to share. (Away teams will take care of these things on their matches)
Getting to Our Home Courts
San Franscisco State University
All of our Women's San Francisco teams are based out of San Franscisco State University. The courts are located near Maloney Field at the corner of Lake Merced Boulevard and State Drive. The courts are down a hill from the street, so you cannot see them from the road. There is street parking as well as a parking garage at the end of State Drive.

Laney College
Our East Bay Women's team is based out of Laney College in Oakland. The courts are visible from East 10th Street. There is plenty of street parking and Lake Merritt Bart (map) is just a few minutes walk.
