What is Adult League?
Adult League teams are USTA teams made up of players with the same ranking and gender. There are three doubles matches and two singles matches per tie (or match-up between 2 teams) for all levels except the 2.5 teams, who have one singles and two doubles matches. Individual players cannot have a higher rank than the team rank. For example, a 3.5 team can have 3.0 and 3.5 players, but not a 4.0 player. Adult Season is the most competitive season and the outcomes affect your USTA ranking. That said, there's a place for everyone and teams are a fun way to meet new people.
Do you have an FAQ about being on a USTA Team?
GLTF has a webpage dedicated to
general league info and what to expect when you join a team. We answer many questions including how many matches you can expect to have, how often and where you might play, how much it all costs, scheduling, etc.
When do we play?
In 2012 the regular Adult League season will run from end of March to July 1st.
When will ties be scheduled for the season?
Teams have to be registered by end of February. Once that happens, USTA and your captains will work on figuring out the schedule for the entire season as quickly as possible. You should know the official schedule of dates, times, and locations around mid-March.
Can I request to only play singles or only play doubles?
Yes, just communicate your preference to your captain and they'll do their best to accommodate.
How do I sign up?
Follow the 3 easy steps under the 'How to Join Our Teams'
here.
